Lime and Salt

Normally water is hard as stone and filled with lime, magnesium and other mineral salts. This is the way it is in many places, and it poses a problem with the car wash, the dishwashing, the coffee, and the ice cubes - lime (furring) in heat exchangers and hot-water tanks.
In water installations lime is found as hard deposits on heating surfaces, in piping systems and in faucets. Within the industry it is often crucial to have the lime disposed of from the raw water, before it is heated and used as process water. Expensive machinery and piping systems need to be kept free from lime deposits to ensure a profitable and effective operation.
It is better to prevent, however, rarely too late to cure. It is not easy to say where the problem arises.
